Thank you for your encouragements,
In the Linkedin people research service, the number of recommendations helps us to be at the top of list.

A member with more than 5 recommendations, has 10 times more visits, an excellent means to promote your profile and your local club.

My advice is useful for you?
In advance, Thanks to take the time to recommend me for my marketing skills.
The Link http://preview.tinyurl.com/2g5s3x

Bonus : I'm an open networker, if some more connections could help you,
feel free to invite me "linkedin [at] ljvd.com"

Best Regards,

I started my day here and now I end it here. (Much too late) Great ideas here Laurent. I will definitely let them percolate in my head while I sleep. I actually already posted one event on de calendar but did not relate it to toastmasters. It's the " Apples to Apples" game which we played with seven toastmasters last Sunday for the first time in the Netherlands. It is a great way to get to know people, to explore their sensibilities, to expand vocabulary and refine pronunciation. Check it out on my website if you like.
Warm regards,
I really like mindmeister and Xing! Thanks for turning me on.

Some thoughts on Toastmaster TV and the Toastmaster logo

Being new to this Toastmasters networking thing (Xing aha!), a great initiative b.t.w. I checked out Toastmasters TV. A great idea and the speech given (by whom? When, Where?) was very funny. However, I would not put it on my website perse.
Why not?
I think it has to do with the 'vomiting' part. The vomiting played a big role in the story. And although it may be funny for the audience, who presumably knows the speaker and his sense of humor, it might actually deter people from joining toastmasters because they do not share this particular sensibility.
I would much prefer a Toastmasters TV film with a more 'neutral' but still strong and funny speech that would show off the skills in public speaking of the presenter without restoring to bodily functions.

On another note: Although I have never liked the toastmasters logo ( I find it somewhat old-fashioned en very conservative) I suddendly saw it as two hands on a steering wheel of a car. A vintage car! And yes, come to think about it, the logo has a definite vintage quality to it, so perhaps that makes it überhip rather than old-fashioned.
In this age of super stylized modern and postmodern logo's the Toastmaster logo actually stands out through its vintage feel.
So yes, here we have two hands firmly in touch with the steering wheel - in control - implying that by joining Toastmasters you can safely and securely negotiate the entire world.
Toastmasters will help you get wherever you want to go.

And of course this is true. When you can speak with ease and confidence in English, the entire world is available to you. So maybe, after all, that logo isn't as cheesy as I thought it was.

Wonderful! May I put this on our website, citing your name? I think we get some French hits (and Spanish) because of our name, but we are in California :)
